This was my final paper for International Relations. I took this class my senior year, fall semester in fall of 2021. This document is the original, unedited document. In the class, we learned about different theories of analysis, such as realism, constructivism, hegemons, and balance of power. The prompt for this paper was "Is it inevitable for the US and China to go to war? Why or why not?" We were supposed to use the different theories of analysis to support our answer. Without giving away the paper but also answering the question, I think it is inevitable for the US and China to go to war. This is because of the situation with Taiwan, Trump's trade war, and COVID-19. This is also because both the US and China are realist hegemons. Therefore, they are always competing for power.
